Lenka and Raj’s wedding began at the Southampton Civic Centre. They arrived side by side, paused briefly in one of the consultation rooms, then walked into the Ceremony Hall with close friends and relatives gathered on either side of the aisle. The atmosphere felt relaxed, steady and warm.
After the ceremony, we stayed inside for a few family and friends photographs. We paused on the staircase for portraits as the guests made their way to St Mary’s Stadium, then took a few couple photographs in the gardens before joining the celebrations.
Their arrival at the celebrations’ hall inside the stadium was met with applause and smiles, followed by speeches that flowed naturally into live music. A Motown singer carried the early part of the celebrations, her set alternating with short speeches and toasts. Later, we stepped down to the side of the pitch. Standing at grass level, surrounded by the scale of the stadium, created a completely different perspective and a quiet pause within the day.
Indian food was served during the reception, reflecting Raj’s heritage and the mix of cultures present throughout the celebrations. After the meal came the cake cut, a short thank you speech from Raj, and then their first dance, opening the evening floor.
This wedding was photographed under the Le Essenze package, with six hours of coverage from ceremony through to the first dance.
