Saffron and Ryan chose Stourhead for their autumn wedding because of Saffron’s family ties to the area. She spent time there as a child, playing in the fields near her grandmother’s farm, and the place already carried meaning before the day began. Early autumn colours, still air and soft light set a calm, steady tone.
Their ceremony took place at one of the temples overlooking the lake. Close family gathered inside, with friends standing on the steps and lawns outside. Saffron and Ryan stayed at the entrance, the water behind them and late afternoon light settling across the scene. Their vows carried clearly through the space, simple and sincere.
Afterwards, they took a gentle walk through the gardens, passing through the grotto and across the bridge. A short journey followed to Alfred’s Tower, a place with personal significance for them. It was a quiet pause in the day. Time to talk, laugh, dry a few tears and ease into the afternoon. Portraits came naturally as we moved, guided lightly and without interruption.
As the day unfolded, pizza, music from their favourite band, sparklers and dancing carried the celebration into the evening. Stourhead’s landscape supported the day without overpowering it. Reflections, space and stillness framed the moments that mattered most.
