This was a brilliant day from start to finish. A Muslim celebration with its own pace and structure, very different from the traditional British wedding format, and full of energy from the moment I arrived. Family and friends were at the centre of everything, which created a constant flow of moments to photograph.
A stage had been set up for the entire celebration and it became the main point for family and group photos. It was busy, lively and used throughout the day. I included only a small selection here so the blog stays balanced, but it was one of the many distinctive parts of the event.
Before the couple met on the stage for the ceremony, Hamida, Sahid, and I went away for a quick couple portrait session. We jumped into the green Maserati SUV the groom party arrived with, found a beautiful and quiet spot and made the most of the time. It turned into a calm twenty minute break for them before everything started.
For the entire duration of the day things moved quickly and kept me on my toes. I switched between natural light outdoors and a mix of on camera and off camera flash for the stage and private bridal room. The celebration ended with their cake cut, and instead of a classic exit, the confetti came right at that moment. It made a great ending to the gallery.
This wedding was covered within my Le Essenze option, a shorter package created for celebrations that need focused coverage without a full day.
Below is a selection of images that tell the story of the day.
