Adrienne and Bob’s Southampton wedding at Westgate Hall began with their arrival on a red double-decker bus, stepping into the old town with their guests before entering the timber-framed hall for their ceremony. Beneath exposed beams and soft window light, the atmosphere inside was relaxed and full of laughter.
Their civil ceremony unfolded easily. There were smiles, playful expressions from Bob, and plenty of kisses as they exchanged vows and rings, happy and at ease, surrounded by the people closest to them. After signing the register, they stepped back outside for the confetti shoot, framed by the old city walls.
We walked nearby for a few portraits along the medieval stonework. The afternoon light opened briefly, creating a gentle glow as they walked back together towards their guests, returning to hugs and easy conversations.
Everyone then climbed onto the double-decker bus for a short journey across town to the reception. It took place in the garden of friends’ home, an informal and generous space with chairs and garden tables scattered across the lawn, decorations hanging from plants, drinks cooling in tubs, and food cooked and served from a gazebo. More guests joined for the celebration as the afternoon moved into the evening.
This wedding was photographed under the Le Essenze package, which offers flexible coverage between two and six hours. Adrienne and Bob chose three hours, covering their arrival, the ceremony, group photographs, couple portraits and the beginning of the reception.
Below is a selection of images that tell the story of the day.
