Karen and Anton had originally booked me for their wedding in London, before their plans changed and their wedding moved to Colombia, where Karen is from. Instead of cancelling the photography altogether, they chose to turn it into a personal engagement session across the city.
The engagement photoshoot in London was shaped around three places with special meaning for them: the National Gallery, the London Underground, and Regent’s Park.
The shoot started at the National Gallery, a place Karen loves and knows well. From there, we moved through London by tube, keeping that part of the session informal and playful. Later, we went to Regent’s Park, which had originally been part of their wedding portrait plan, and used the soft light before sunset for the final portraits.
Alongside natural portraits and candid moments, we played with motion blur, people moving around them, and warm sun flare through the lens. The result was a mix of soft, romantic images, playful moments, and photographs that felt natural and connected to the city.
Karen and Anton had prepared the session with care, including mood boards for each location. After several planning touchpoints, the shoot had a clear shape while still leaving space for movement, laughter and small spontaneous moments.
Karen and Anton choosed Le Essenze, with 3 hours of coverage, which gave us time to move between the National Gallery, the London Underground and Regent’s Park, with space for outfit changes and a relaxed final portrait session before sunset.
Below is a selection of images that tell the story of the day.
